YIN YOGA

Yin yoga is a more meditative approach to the practice with a physical focus that brings the body much deeper into the postures. Yin yoga works by applying moderate stress to the deeper connective tissues, the tendons, the fascia and the ligaments to help increase circulation in the joints and improve flexibility. In this non-heated practice we will hold the postures for typically 3 to 5 minutes in length to allow time for these connective tissues to open. While we hold the postures we will focus on a meditative breath and awareness of the body and mind. Yin yoga is suitable for all ages/all levels and flexibility. Come to relax, renew, stretch and breathe. Feel free to exhale with a big, "aaaahhh."

Restorative Yin and Yoga Nidra meditation

Restorative yin is similar to our yin classes that we offer, in that we will hold passive postures for several minutes. In restorative there is even less effort and intensity so that the goal is to experience relaxation and restoration. Each practice will include a guided Yoga Nidra meditation. Yoga Nidra, also known as “yogic sleep” is a form of guided meditation that brings the practitioner to a state of consciousness between waking and sleeping. It draws attention inward by awareness to breath and body. It is a relaxing meditation that can lead to reduced anxiety and stress and to an overall feeling of calm. The class will be held in a non-heated room. Please feel free to bring an eye mask and a blanket.

Children’s YOGA

As a student of yoga for the past 10 plus years and a teacher of yoga for the past 5 years I have had the opportunity in that time to get certified in teaching children’s yoga. I got my certification back in 2018 with kidding around yoga. It was such an incredible experience learning how to incorporate yoga into children’s lives. This is a practice I love so deeply and feel very passionate about so to be able to teach young kids and watch them experience this practice is incredible. So many people find yoga later in life and say how “we wish we found this earlier on” so by creating children’s yoga we are giving these little humans to begin this incredible practice of life at such an early age. I cannot wait to share this love and practice with kids! Please note, this class will be held in an non-heated room - Addie Foley

*Heated classes are heated between 90-99 degrees. Non-heated classes are not heated with temperature between 80-85 degrees.
